This is a town that gets under your skin You can run away, you can get away But it still gets in I stand in the footsteps of the ones Who came before They keep me warm so they’re not gone You don’t have to go to make your sound It’s in these streets, it’s all around In the giant’s footsteps now You don’t have to see it to believe Just close your eyes and breathe And you feel the beat From the giant’s footsteps feet Echoes of sound that take me back to when The trains went in, they went under the bridge and they went out again A thousand miles I rode these rails for nought So now why do I feel like there’s no way in and there’s no way out You don’t have to go to make your sound It’s in these streets, it’s all around In the giant’s footsteps now You don’t have to see it to believe Just close your eyes and breathe And you feel the beat From the giant’s footsteps feet

Set the World on Track (Live)

about

The album features five tracks recorded at Shildon Railway Institute between February - April 2022. Four of these were written in community workshops in Shildon and tell stories from the landmark first steam-hauled passenger journey in 1825, to life at the Wagon Works in the 1980s as well as songs that celebrate Shildon's heritage and culture. The song 'Set the World on Track' was recorded live at the inaugural performance of songs at Shildon Railway Institute on 1st April 2022. The rest of the songs were professionally recorded with singers and musicians from Shildon and the surrounding area with Graham Kay from Xtrasonic Media.
